About The Event

Wanchai is one of the oldest district in Hong Kong with the highest number of tenement houses. In this tour, we’ll explore different historical buildings along one of the oldest main road in Hong Kong and end it at the harbour front where all the skyscrapers are. Meet your guide by at Kam Fung Cafe to start with a light breakfast, and the tour will begin as follows:

1) The Blue House

We’ll visit the Grade 1 historical building in Hong Kong. You’ll take a look at the building’s architecture, the antiques donated by residents, learn about the history of the area, how the children spent their time before and how it evolved into the current community. You can also appreciate the street art which is newly made in this neighbourhood, to see how it interact with the people living in here.

2) 18 Ship Street

We’ll visit this Grade 2 historical building. Have you thought of how the local lived and ran their business in this well-preserved tenement house in the 60s? Want to have a glimpse of how it looked like before? The descendant of the architect and ex-owner will unveil it for you.

4) Wo Cheong Pawn Shop

It is a grade 2 listed heritage with the Pawn shop on the ground floor and the whole tenement building for appreciation. We'll find out more about the local business in appreciating this listed heritage.

5) Lee Tung Avenue

Did you know that it was formerly called “Wedding Invitation Street” by the local? Let's discover what happened to this street after the redevelopment.

6) Golden Bauhinia Square

What's better than appreciating the buildings at the waterfront? Here your guide will show you different skyscrapers with special features.
